I didn’t want to book a venue back in the winter for several reasons:

1. I might have stumbled upon something more perfect come springtime.
2. The venue i liked best was wide open for 2011.
3. I had only seen said venue covered in snow; it might have been hideous in the spring. (You never know!)
4. Budgetary reasons.

I still have not seen the venue without a blanket of snow covering it, but i’m suddenly starting to feel pressure from all sides to get a date and a venue nailed down. So i tried this week to go ahead and book it, and guess what? The date i wanted has been taken. Even though they said they’d keep me informed of people sniffing round May, 2011. Oh AND the venue is actually 50% more than they quoted me when we looked at it this winter.

This is the VERY FIRST of about a thousand things that i’m going to need to take care of between now and this time next year. How the hell am i going to manage?? What do i do now - just go ahead and push the wedding back by a week and pay the extra 50% they’re asking?
